A little about me..........
My name is Jack Howison and I have lived in Beaufort over 20 years. I have always had a love of the water, nature, sunrises and photography! What better place to begin my photo journey than right here in beautiful, 300 year old Beaufort, South Carolina!
With the advent of digital photography and computers, I decided in the late 1990's it was time to make my move and did so with my first digital camera, a Sony Mavica with "Floppy Disc" storage!
Since then I have owned many cameras with my current favorites being my three Olympus cameras, the newest of which is an Olympus SP-800UZ. I recently sold (4-5-11) my Olympus SP-800UZ and now have a Canon PoweShot SX30IS that I am experimenting with and so far I like it a lot!
I have always loved to wake up early to watch the Sunrise, a trait my Grandfather passed down to me at a young age and taught me to appreciate!
During the past 15 years I have archived several hundred thousand photographs and in the last two years my "Daily Sunrise" photos number over 70,000!
Within this website I will display some of the better Sunrise photos as well as others in their respective galleries. I also plan to offer all of them for purchase in several different formats but it will take time to implement that program.
